Ingredients

  • 1 wheel brie cheese (8 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • Pinch of salt
  • Crusty bread or crackers for serving

Instructions

  • Prep the Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a small baking dish
  • Caramelize Onions: Melt butter in skillet over medium heat, add sliced onions and cook 15-20 minutes until golden
  • Add Flavor: Stir in balsamic vinegar and thyme, cook for 1 additional minute
  • Prepare Brie: Place brie in baking dish, optionally remove top rind, spread onion mixture on top
  • Bake: Bake 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden on top
  • Serve: Serve immediately with crusty bread or crackers while hot

Notes

  • Choose brie at room temperature for even melting and better flavor distribution
