Description

A delicious and easy recipe for perfectly boiled corn cob with tender kernels and rich buttery flavor that you’ll love making at home.


Ingredients

  • 4 ears Fresh corn on the cob
  • 4 quarts Water
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • Optional Chili powder
  • Optional Parmesan cheese
  • Optional Lime juice

Instructions

  • Prepare Corn: Shuck corn by removing husks and silk strands completely
  • Boil Water: Fill large pot with 4 quarts water, bring to rolling boil
  • Add Salt: Stir 1 tablespoon salt into boiling water until dissolved
  • Cook Corn: Add corn ears, cook uncovered 4-6 minutes until tender
  • Test Doneness: Use tongs to check kernels are tender but still crisp
  • Serve: Remove from water, drain, add butter and desired toppings

Notes

  • Choose corn with bright green husks and plump kernels for best results
  • Add corn to already boiling water to prevent mushy texture
  • Never add sugar to water as it makes kernels tough
  • Don’t overcrowd the pot – cook in batches if necessary
