Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground meat (or ground turkey for a leaner option)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional for sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions
- Mix the ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, salt, pepper, sage, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, crushed red pepper flakes (if using), and maple syrup. Mix until the seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the meat.
- Form patties: Divide the sausage mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into small patties about ½ inch thick.

- Serve: Serve the sausage patties hot alongside eggs, pancakes, or your favorite breakfast foods.
Notes
- You can make a large batch and freeze uncooked patties for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge before cooking.
- Customize the flavors by adding fennel seeds, rosemary, or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
