- 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup warm whole milk
- ½ cup melted butter
- 2 large eggs
- Fresh orange zest and juice from 2 large oranges
- 1 cup fresh cranberries, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup powdered sugar for drizzling
Instructions
- Prep: Activate yeast in warm milk with sugar until frothy (5-10 minutes, 105-110°F milk)
- Mix & Knead: Combine dry ingredients, add wet ingredients, knead until smooth (8-10 minutes kneading)
- First Rise: Place in oiled bowl, cover, let double in warm spot (1 hour rising time)
- Shape & Bake: Roll dough, add filling, cut rolls, second rise, bake at 350°F (30 min rise + 25-30 min bake)
- Finish: Cool completely, drizzle with orange glaze (Let cool before glazing)
Notes
- Test milk temperature with your wrist – it should feel barely warm, not hot
- Chop cranberries coarsely to prevent them from bursting during baking
- Cover rolls with foil if they brown too quickly during baking
- Store covered for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months; reheat gently before serving
