  • Author: Jennie Graham
  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

This Florida Shrimp Pie Creamy combines succulent shrimp with rich cream cheese filling in a golden flaky crust. A perfect Southern coastal dish that’s elegant yet simple to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 crust from Pillsbury™ Deep Dish Pie Crusts package (12 oz, contains 2 crusts)
  • ½ cup chive-and-onion cream cheese spread (from 8-oz container)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 12 oz frozen cooked shrimp (thawed, drained, deveined, peeled, tails removed, coarsely chopped)
  • ½ cup shredded pepper Jack cheese (2 oz)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Remove one pie crust from freezer and let it thaw for 10 minutes.
  2. Unroll the pie crust and gently press it into a 9-inch pie pan. Crimp edges decoratively if desired.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and cream cheese spread until smooth and well combined.
  4. Pat shrimp completely dry with paper towels. Chop into bite-sized pieces if not already done.
  5. Fold chopped shrimp and pepper Jack cheese into the egg mixture until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour filling into prepared pie crust, spreading evenly with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes until center is set and top is golden brown.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Thoroughly drain and pat dry your shrimp to prevent a watery filling
  • Let the cream cheese come to room temperature for easier mixing
  • Pre-bake the crust for 5 minutes if you prefer an extra-crispy bottom
  • Cover pie edges with foil if they brown too quickly during baking
  • Store leftovers covered in refrigerator for up to 3 days
