Description

A delicious and easy recipe for frozen banana pops that you’ll love making at home. These chocolate-coated treats are perfect for a healthy dessert or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium ripe bananas
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup crushed nuts (optional)
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons colorful sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare Bananas – Slice peeled bananas into thick pieces about one inch wide. Insert wooden popsicle sticks halfway into each slice for easy handling.
  • Step 2: Melt Chocolate – Combine dark chocolate chips and coconut oil in microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until completely smooth.
  • Step 3: Coat Bananas – Dip each banana slice into melted chocolate mixture, ensuring even coating on all sides. Use a fork for easier handling and better coverage.
  • Step 4: Add Toppings – Before chocolate sets, immediately sprinkle your chosen toppings over the coated banana slices for best adhesion.
  • Step 5: Freeze – Place coated pops on parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for at least 2 hours or until completely firm.
  • Step 6: Serve – Remove from freezer and serve immediately for the perfect texture and temperature.

Notes

  • Choose bananas that are ripe but still firm – overly soft bananas become mushy when frozen
  • Let melted chocolate cool slightly before dipping to prevent it from sliding off the bananas
  • Work quickly when adding toppings as chocolate sets fast, or reheat gently if it becomes too thick
  • Store finished pops in airtight containers with parchment between layers to prevent sticking
