Description

A delicious and easy recipe for garlic butter chicken asparagus that combines tender seared chicken with crisp asparagus in a rich, aromatic garlic butter sauce.

  • 4 pieces (1.5 lbs) Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 cloves, minced Fresh garlic cloves
  • 1 lb, trimmed Fresh asparagus
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons Extra virgin olive oil
  • To taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  • Prep Work: Mince garlic cloves finely and trim woody ends from asparagus spears. Season chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Sear Chicken: Heat olive oil and half the butter in large skillet over medium-high heat. Once melted and bubbly, add chicken breasts and sear 6-7 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Cook Asparagus: Remove chicken from skillet and set aside. Add remaining butter and minced garlic to same pan, then add asparagus. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Combine and Finish: Return chicken to skillet with asparagus. Drizzle fresh lemon juice over everything and toss gently for 2-3 minutes to combine all flavors.
  • Serve: Plate immediately while hot. Garnish with lemon slices or fresh parsley if desired. Serve alongside rice, pasta, or crusty bread.

Notes

  • Pound chicken breasts to even thickness for consistent cooking and prevent dry, overcooked edges
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan when searing chicken – work in batches if necessary for proper browning
  • Choose asparagus spears of similar thickness so they cook evenly and maintain consistent texture
  • Let chicken rest for 2-3 minutes after cooking to allow juices to redistribute throughout the meat
