Description

A delicious and flavorful grilled chicken marinade featuring soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, and caramelized onions that creates tender, juicy chicken with amazing depth of flavor.


Ingredients

  • 4 pieces (1.5 lbs) boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 pieces large onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, mix soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, and brown sugar. Add chicken breasts and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Onions: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook for about 20 minutes until golden brown and caramelized.
  3. Grill the Chicken: Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Remove chicken from marinade (reserve it) and grill for 6-7 minutes per side until cooked through (165°F).
  4. Glaze with Onions: Once grilled, top chicken with caramelized onions and let sit for a couple of minutes to absorb flavors.
  5. Serve: Plate the chicken, drizzle with remaining glaze from the pan, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Pound chicken breasts to even thickness before marinating to ensure uniform cooking and better flavor penetration
  • Reserve some fresh marinade separately before adding raw chicken for safe basting and serving sauce
