Description

This Grilled Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich is the ultimate quick comfort food. Made with just four pantry staples, it combines the creamy richness of peanut butter with the sweet warmth of banana slices – all toasted to golden perfection. Ready in 10 minutes, it’s perfect for breakfast, a snack, or a nostalgic treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 slices whole wheat bread
  • 1 medium banana, sliced
  • Cooking spray as needed

Instructions

  1. Spread 1 tablespoon peanut butter onto one slice of bread, covering edge to edge
  2. Arrange banana slices evenly over the peanut butter, slightly overlapping if needed
  3. Spread remaining peanut butter on second bread slice, then place over bananas and press gently
  4. Spray skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium heat until warm
  5. Place sandwich in skillet and cook 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown
  6. Remove from heat, let cool for 1 minute, then slice diagonally and serve immediately

Notes

  • Use slightly overripe bananas for extra sweetness and easier mashing during cooking
  • Spread peanut butter all the way to the edges to prevent banana slices from sliding out
  • Press the sandwich gently before cooking to help ingredients bind together
  • Keep heat at medium to prevent burning the outside while the inside stays cold
  • Let the sandwich rest for 30 seconds after cooking to allow filling to set slightly
