Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 12 oz egg noodles, cooked according to package instructions
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up into crumbles. Drain excess fat and set the beef aside.
- Sauté Veggies: In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions, garlic, and mushrooms, and sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.
- Make the Sauce: Sprinkle flour over the veggies and stir to coat. Gradually whisk in beef broth to create a smooth sauce. Add Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and paprika. Bring to a simmer.
- Combine and Simmer: Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Stir in sour cream until the sauce is creamy and heated through (do not boil).
- Serve: Toss the sauce with cooked egg noodles. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
