Ingredients
Scale
- 10 pieces Gyoza wrappers
- 1 cup Ground pork
- 2 stalks Green onions
- 2 pieces Garlic cloves
- 1 inch piece Fresh ginger
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 4 cups Chicken broth
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- For garnish Fresh herbs
Instructions
- Prepare Filling: Mix ground pork with minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onions, and soy sauce until well combined
- Form Dumplings: Place teaspoon of filling in center of wrapper, moisten edges with water, fold into half-moon shape and seal tightly
- Heat Broth: Bring chicken broth to gentle simmer in large pot over medium heat, add extra soy sauce if desired
- Cook Dumplings: Carefully drop dumplings into simmering broth, cook 5 minutes until they float to surface
- Finish and Serve: Drizzle sesame oil over soup, garnish with fresh herbs, serve immediately while hot
Notes
- Don’t overfill dumplings – too much filling makes sealing difficult and can cause bursting during cooking
- Keep broth at gentle simmer, not rolling boil, to prevent dumplings from breaking apart or becoming tough
- Make extra dumplings and freeze them uncooked for quick future meals – they cook straight from frozen
- Taste broth before adding dumplings and adjust seasoning with soy sauce or a pinch of white pepper
