Description

A refreshing and vibrant lime mint agua fresca that’s perfect for hot days. This traditional Mexican beverage combines fresh lime juice with aromatic mint leaves for a naturally cooling drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 810 fresh limes (to yield 1 cup juice)
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar (to taste)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes for serving
  • Extra mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preparation – Gather and wash all ingredients thoroughly. Pat mint leaves dry with paper towels.
  • Step 2: Extract Juice – Squeeze the limes to extract 1 cup of fresh lime juice. Remove any seeds.
  • Step 3: Blend Base – In a blender, combine lime juice, mint leaves, and sugar. Blend until smooth and frothy.
  • Step 4: Add Water – Add cold water to the mixture and blend again until well combined, about 30 seconds.
  • Step 5: Strain (Optional) – Strain the mixture into a pitcher to remove mint leaves for a smoother texture.
  • Step 6: Chill and Serve – Chill in the fridge for at least an hour or serve immediately over ice with mint garnish.

Notes

  • Roll limes on the counter while pressing down to extract maximum juice before cutting
  • Taste and adjust sweetness gradually – you can always add more sugar but can’t remove it
  • Use sparkling water instead of still water for a fizzy version that’s perfect for celebrations
  • Make ice cubes with extra mint leaves frozen inside for beautiful presentation and extra flavor
