- 4 cloves Fresh Garlic, minced
- 8 oz Button or Cremini Mushrooms, sliced
- 3 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
- 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley, chopped
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare Pasta – Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
- Step 2: Start the Sauce – While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Step 3: Cook Mushrooms – Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for approximately 5-7 minutes until golden brown and tender.
- Step 4: Combine – Reserve some pasta water before draining the spaghetti. Add drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic and mushrooms.
- Step 5: Create Sauce – Pour in reserved pasta water as needed to create a silky sauce; season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Step 6: Finish and Serve – Toss everything together and sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
- Don’t overcrowd mushrooms in the pan or they’ll steam instead of browning properly
- Reserve at least one cup of pasta water before draining to ensure you have enough for sauce
- Add garlic after heating oil to prevent burning and bitter flavors
- Grate Parmesan fresh for better melting and superior flavor compared to pre-grated cheese
