Instructions

  2. Dry ingredients: Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside for later use.
  3. Cream mixture: Beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, approximately 3-4 minutes using an electric mixer.
  4. Add eggs: Incorporate eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in milk and vanilla extract.
  5. Combine batters: Gradually fold in flour mixture until just combined. Divide batter equally into three portions.
  6. Flavor divisions: Leave one portion plain (vanilla), fold strawberry puree into second, and cocoa powder into third.
  7. Layer cake: Alternate spoonfuls of each batter in the prepared pan, creating natural swirls and patterns.
  8. Bake: Bake for 55-60 minutes until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely.
  9. Make ganache: Heat cream until just simmering. Pour over chocolate chips, let sit 2 minutes, then stir until smooth.
  10. Glaze cake: Pour ganache over cooled cake, allowing it to drip down sides naturally for an elegant finish.
