- 8 oz Fusilli pasta
- 1 cup Cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/2 cup Basil pesto
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1/4 cup Fresh basil leaves, chopped
Instructions
- Step 1: Cook Pasta – Cook the fusilli pasta in salted boiling water for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water.
- Step 2: Prepare Pesto Base – In a mixing bowl, combine the basil pesto and olive oil; stir well to create a smooth mixture.
- Step 3: Add Fresh Elements – Add halved cherry tomatoes and chopped basil to the bowl; mix gently to avoid crushing tomatoes.
- Step 4: Combine Everything – Incorporate the cooled pasta and grated Parmesan cheese; toss until evenly coated.
- Step 5: Chill and Serve – Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld. Serve chilled, garnished with additional Parmesan and basil if desired.
Notes
- Use room temperature cherry tomatoes for the best flavor development in your dish
- Don’t skip rinsing the pasta with cold water as it stops the cooking process immediately
