Description
Three-ingredient sausage cheese balls made with ground pork sausage, sharp cheddar cheese, and biscuit mix for the perfect party appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground pork sausage, at room temperature
- 2 cups biscuit baking mix
- 1 pound sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Ensure sausage is at room temperature for easier mixing.
- Combine room temperature sausage and biscuit mix in a large bowl. Mix with your hands until well combined and no dry spots remain.
- Add shredded Cheddar cheese to the mixture and mix until fully incorporated throughout the sausage mixture.
- Roll mixture into approximately 30 walnut-sized balls, keeping them uniform in size. Transfer to a baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown and sausage is cooked through, approximately 20 to 25 minutes.
Notes
- Let sausage reach room temperature before mixing to ensure easier blending and more consistent texture
- Use freshly shredded cheese instead of pre-shredded for better melting and superior flavor
- Keep ball sizes consistent using a cookie scoop to ensure even cooking times
- Line your baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking
- Test one ball first by cutting it open to ensure the sausage is fully cooked before serving
- Can be made ahead and refrigerated up to 24 hours before baking
- Freeze unbaked balls for up to 3 months for future use
