- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 stalks green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Step 1: Cook Noodles – Boil water in a pot and cook instant ramen noodles according to package instructions (about 3 minutes). Discard seasoning packets.
- Step 2: Drain and Rinse – Drain noodles and rinse under cold water to prevent clumping and remove excess starch.
- Step 3: Heat Oil – In the same pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat until shimmering but not smoking.
- Step 4: Sauté Garlic – Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant and lightly golden.
- Step 5: Add Sauce – Pour in soy sauce, then add drained noodles back into the pot. Toss until well coated.
- Step 6: Finish and Serve – Mix in chopped green onions, serve in bowls, and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- Use toasted sesame oil for deeper flavor compared to regular sesame oil, which provides more intense nuttiness
- Don’t overcook the garlic as it becomes bitter; aim for light golden color and fragrant aroma
- Rinse noodles with cold water immediately after cooking to stop the cooking process and prevent mushiness
