Slow Cooker Glazed Carrots

A delicious and easy recipe for slow cooker glazed carrots that you’ll love making at home. These tender, sweet carrots are perfectly glazed with maple syrup and brown sugar.

  • Total Time: 6 hours 10 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds baby carrots, fresh or frozen
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup, pure maple preferred
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup butter, cubed for even melting

Instructions

  • Prep: Add carrots to slow cooker, sprinkle with salt, cinnamon, and brown sugar
  • Coat: Pour maple syrup over carrots, toss well, spread evenly
  • Cook: Top with butter cubes, cook on high 3 hours or low 5-6 hours
  • Finish: Remove lid for final 30 minutes to thicken glaze

Notes

  • Choose firm, bright orange carrots for best results. Baby carrots work perfectly, but you can cut regular carrots into 2-inch pieces.
  • Real maple syrup creates better flavor than pancake syrup. The investment is worth the superior taste and natural sweetness.
  • Stir the carrots once or twice during cooking if possible to distribute the glaze evenly and prevent sticking.
  • The carrots are done when they’re fork-tender but still hold their shape. They shouldn’t be mushy or falling apart.
