About Jennie Recipes
Welcome to Jennie Recipes 👋 — a cozy corner of the internet where home cooking meets real life. If you’re looking for overly polished, unattainable “food magazine” recipes… you won’t find them here. What you will find are authentic, tested, approachable dishes that bring comfort, flavor, and a sense of community to your kitchen.
This site started humbly in 2024 from a tiny kitchen in Monroe, Louisiana. Jennie Graham, our founder, had just finished grad school and spent weekends cooking for friends. She’d scribble recipes on scrap paper, shoot photos with her old phone, and share meals with neighbors. Her friends started asking for “that recipe website,” and one evening over homemade lasagna, Jennie decided to turn her hobby into something more.
Jennie Recipes was born out of a simple belief: good food doesn’t have to be complicated, and recipes should feel like they come from a friend — not a textbook. Since then, what started as a personal blog has grown into a trusted cooking hub visited by thousands of home cooks every month across the U.S.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make home cooking more joyful and less intimidating. We create recipes that busy people can actually make, using ingredients you can find at your local grocery store. We believe in teaching techniques, not just giving instructions — so you feel confident experimenting and making each recipe your own.
We focus on:
- Comfort classics with a fresh twist
- Seasonal ingredients and approachable flavors
- Step-by-step visuals to make learning easy
- Honest storytelling that connects food to life
Our Story — From One Kitchen to Many
Jennie grew up in a big Midwestern family where Sunday dinners were sacred. The smell of simmering sauces, fresh rolls, and roast chicken would fill the house hours before anyone sat down to eat. Those early memories of gathering, laughing, and passing food around the table shaped how she cooks today.
During her early twenties, Jennie moved to Boston for graduate school and found herself longing for that same sense of connection. Cooking became her creative outlet and emotional anchor. She experimented with flavors she missed from home, borrowed cookbooks from the library, and started hosting informal “Sunday Suppers” with friends. People didn’t just come for the food — they came for the warmth.
Eventually, Jennie started publishing her recipes online. The site slowly grew, first through word of mouth, then through Pinterest. In 2025, she brought on two close friends to help transform Jennie Recipes from a solo project into a small but mighty team.

Our Editorial Standards
We take recipe quality seriously. Here’s how we ensure everything you see here is trustworthy:
- Idea & Inspiration: Recipes come from seasonal cravings, family traditions, or reader requests.
- Testing: Each recipe is tested multiple times in a real kitchen — with real stovetops, ovens, and distractions.
- Documentation: We shoot step-by-step photos to make sure you can follow along easily.
- Review: Sarah checks ingredients and nutritional info, Ethan refines clarity, and Jennie makes the final call.
- Community Feedback: After publishing, we read comments closely and update recipes if needed.
We don’t publish content just to “fill space.” If a recipe doesn’t work, we don’t post it. Period.
